looking ahead
The last two days at TCMS, our students worked hard each morning completing their midyear iReady diagnostics. In the afternoons, we wrapped up the semester with our “Christmas Around the World” event, where students explored how different cultures celebrate the holiday season. Students selected five countries from a diverse list, including Japan, Germany, Ireland, Greece, South Africa, the Philippines, Italy, Mexico, Australia, France, Denmark, Brazil, Norway, Latvia, Croatia, Sweden, Hawaii, Russia, Uganda, and England. They participated in hands-on activities, crafts, games, and even tested their knowledge with Christmas Around the World trivia, making for an enriching learning experience. A huge thank you goes out to our incredible teachers, whose teamwork and creativity made this event possible. It was a fun and meaningful way to close out the semester! We wish our entire TCMS community a joyful holiday season and a relaxing, refreshing winter break. See you in the new year!

Students had the following roles: creating a blueprint, constructing a gingerbread house, budgeting money & purchasing materials, real-estate agents, and the use of marketing strategies (infomercial, house listing, and company logo). The student body will be voting for their favorite house during lunch today. Stay tuned for our winner!

Congratulations to 7th grade students Prentice Kanz and Azlynne Henthorn for earning 3rd place in the 35th Annual WVU Pumpkin Drop. Competing against 242 teams from 58 schools, their pumpkin landed just 2 feet, 2 inches from the target after being dropped from the 11-story Engineering Sciences Building at WVU back in October. Yesterday, they were each presented with their share of the $50 prize and a custom trophy made by the WVU School of Engineering. We are proud of their hard work and engineering skills! Also pictured is Mr. Maiden, TCMS TASK Advisor, who has now taken his students to compete in the WVU Pumpkin Drop for 3 years and counting! #KnightsPride
